Wales vs Italy player ratings: 2022 Six Nations

Wales vs Italy player ratings as the visitors recorded was their first win in the Six Nations since 2015, and their first win ever in Wales.

The win ensured Italy broke a losing sequence of 36 Six Nations games. Wales had suffered away defeats in 2003 and 2007, but the recent 15-year winning record against Italy in all competitions had stretched to 16 games.

The visitors took an early 6-0 lead through two penalties before Owen Watkin’s try, converted by Dan Biggar, put the hosts in front.

Italy, nevertheless, took an unexpected 12-7 lead into the break after two more three-pointers.

Hooker Dewi Lake scored his first international try to put Wales back in front before Garbisi struck once again for the visitors, 14-15.

Apiece of Josh Adams magic saw the winger carve through visitors defence for what everybody thought was the decisive winning score.

However, Ange Capuozzo sped through to set up Edoardo Padavani to cross the whitewash before Garbisi slotted the decisive winning conversion.
