‘We need more power’ – Adam Jones selects pack to dominate scrum against Boks

Welsh rugby legend Adam Jones won 95 caps for Wales and played five Tests for the Lions on tours to South Africa and Australia.

Here he picks a forward pack he feels could dominate the scrum in the first Test against the world champion Springboks…

COMPETITION:

Adam Jones’ Lions pack

FRONT-ROW:

Loosehead-prop: Rory Sutherland – He’s a good set-piece performer who scrums at a very low height. The lower you can work against someone like Frans Malherbe, South Africa’s likely tighthead, to prevent him from achieving a dominant pushing position, the better. Hooker: Ken Owens – Again, an agonisingly close decision. Owens brings a lot with his solidity, experience and physicality.

Tighthead-prop: Tadhg Furlong – He’s my starter with Kyle Sinckler off the bench. Two class tightheads there.
