Worcester 14-16 Bath: Tom Homer’s goal-kicking and a much-improved second half earns Mike Ford’s men a narrow win

  • A fantastic second half turnaround saw Bath defeat Worcester Warriors 14-16
  • Jonathan Evans’ try and a Homer penalty after the break turned around a 14-6 half-time deficit
  • The Warriors are now winless since November
  • Cooper Vuna and Donncha O’Callaghan scored the Warriors’ two tries
Tom Homer’s goal-kicking and a much-improved second half earned Bath a narrow win against Worcester, ending their six-game losing streak.

Worcester were dominant in the first half with tries from Cooper Vuna and Donncha O’Callaghan helping them to an impressive overall 14-6 lead at the break.

Fly-half Tom Heathcote was in fine form in this period both from hand and the tee to help assert the hosts’ dominance in the opening 40 at Sixways.

Unluckily for the Warriors, Bath’s fullback Homer was in equally fine form, contributing three successful kicks during the second half as Bath roared back into this basement battle.

A try from Jonathan Evans set up the comeback before a penalty from Homer with 17 minutes to go sealed victory for Mike Ford’s men.
