Worcester star sidelined for three weeks

Worcester Warriors scrum-half Francois Hougaard will miss the trip to Bath as he is out for up to three weeks.

Warriors director of rugby Gary Gold hinted last week that the 29-year-old might be ready for the clash at The Rec on Saturday.

Warriors have since confirmed Hougaard will be out for between two and three weeks.

The South African international is recovering from an adductor injury which he sustained while on duty for the Springboks.

Hougaard might also miss Worcester’s European Challenge Cup opener against Brive at Sixways on Saturday, October 14 and he clash against Connacht the following Saturday.

Gold hopes Hougaard as well as Ryan Mills, who faces a further three weeks on the sidelines with a quadricep injury, will return for Worcester’s league clash at Harlequins on Saturday, October 28.
