Nottingham Rugby have launched an urgent crowdfunding appeal, to pay for the extensive flood damage at their home ground and training facilities. The Lady Bay ground is submerged with water due to the recent Storm Henk, and the Championship club has been forced to postpone their matches until the repairs have been made.
The Archers had to postpone their fixture against London Scottish last weekend, and are calling on the support of the rugby family in this difficult time. Nottingham explained the severe extent of the damage in their Crowd Funding post, which has an overall goal of raising ยฃ50,000.

The statement read:
“Nottingham Rugby need your help at a very difficult time.
“The severe flooding of our site at Lady Bay has left damage to our pitches, clubhouse and training facilities. We urgently need financial help to enable us to reinstate our facilities to provide Championship Rugby matches, community training facilities and private events.
“Due to being on a floodplain, the insurance available to the club will not cover the costs incurred of the flooding. Hence why we are asking for extra financial help.
“Weโre calling on the local rugby community to support us through these unprecedented times for the club. Your club needs you.”
Once again, the rugby family has banded together as clubs from across the country have shared Nottingham’s appeal. The likes of Saracens, Leicester Tigers and London Scottish have already voiced their support on social media. The clubs are urging their supporters to rally behind the Archers, and if possible donate towards their reparations.
