From time to time, England rugby players have a tendency to play with fire when it comes to life off the pitch.
Whether it’s a boozy night out in town or just something stupid, some stars don’t do themselves any favours when it comes to abiding by the law.
Here’s a look at five of the most notable occasions when England rugby players broke the law…
#1. Manu Tuilagi – 2011
England’s failed World Cup campaign in 2011 plunged into deeper shame after Tuilagi was held by police after jumping from a ferry into Auckland harbour.
The embarrassing incident came 24 hours after England were dumped out of the tournament following a series of poor displays on the pitch and a host of controversies off it.
Charges were dropped, but he’d still be fined £3,000 by the RFU.
