Despite Eddie Jones resistance to picking in-form Gallagher Premiership stars, here are five players who impressed over the weekend for their respective clubs this weekend...

#1. Nathan Hughes (Bath RFC)

Position: Number 8
Score: Bath 21-20 Harlequins

Somerset Live: "He was applauded as he left the field after a thunderous showing. The guy managed to crunch Andre Esterhuizen twice – how many can say they have done that this season? Nails."

#2. Will Muir (Bath RFC)

Position: Winger
Score: Bath 21-20 Harlequins

Somerset Live: "Scored a crucial brace as he showed off his wondrous ability to finish chances in that left wide channel. His ability to avoid tackles is outstanding, and he showed that off particularly in his first try, where he beat three defenders to touch down and give his side the lead."

#3. Elliott Stooke (Wasps)

Position: Second-row
Score: Saracens 20-26 Wasps

Coventry Live: "Stooke is gifted with his hands and links up play well, as evidenced in the attacking 22 early doors against Saracens. What a signing he has been."

#4. Teimana Harrison (Northampton Saints)

Position: Back-row
Score: Worcester 13-29 Northampton Saints

Northampton Chronicle: This man was the catalyst for Saints during the first half, making metres every time he got the ball as well as delivering 15 tackles without missing one overall..."

#5. Tommy Reffell (Leicester Tigers)

Position: Back-row
Score: Sale 35-26 Leicester Tigers

Leicestershire Live: "No carries but Tigers’ top tackler and turnover winner. He made a big hit on Cliff that stopped Sale in their tracks, and was always a threat around the ruck, slowing down Sharks ball without being pinged by referee Craig Maxwell-Keys."
