Worcester 35-54 Wasps: Christian Wade scores six as Wasps win

  • Christian Wade equalled the Premiership record for most tries in a game as he scored six as Wasps overcame Worcester
  • England winger Wade scored four tries in the first half before adding two more from interceptions in the second
  • Worcester scored six tries of their own in a game which totalled 14 at Sixways
Six tries from Christian Wade helped Wasps seal a spot in the play-offs after beating Premiership strugglers Worcester.

The six-try tally sees him equal Ryan Constable’s record haul for Saracens against Bedford in 2000.

Wade now has 11 tries in the Premiership this season and is two behind Thomas Waldrom at the top of the league’s try-scoring charts.

Despite the home side scoring six tries themselves, a total of eight scored by visitors Wasps saw them seal a 54-35 victory at Sixways.

Wade’s tries were added to by Frank Halai and Alex Lozowski, while Cooper Vuna, GJ van Velze, Francois Hougaard, Bryce Heem, Carl Kirwan and Andy Symons secured Worcester a bonus point.

A poor performance from the tee for Warriors’ Tom Heathcote made it difficult to keep in touch with Wasps
