England head coach Eddie Jones has dismissed the role of Lions head coach as an “ambassador job”.
The Aussie, however, refused to rule out the possibility of succeeding Michael Cheika as Australia boss.
Jones insists he has no interest in leading the elite of British and Irish rugby to South Africa in 2021, in the process taking a dig at Warren Gatland who was in charge of the previous two tours.
Rugby fan favourite Andy Goode had the perfect response for Jones.
Firstly why is Eddie Jones disrespecting the history and culture of the @lionsofficial? Secondly you’d never have got the Head Coach role anyway Eddie! When will Eddie and his mouth learn?!

Just to let everyone know I’m ruling myself out of the running for the nutritionalist job for the @lionsofficial tour of South Africa in 2021. Like Eddie Jones, I’d have no chance of getting the job but want to rule myself out before anyone asks!

Rugby writer Stephen Jones, often the wind-up merchant, even had a great response for the Aussie.
To coach the Lions in all the difficult circumstances is the ultimate coaching task. For Eddie Jones to disparage the job as ‘ambassadorial’ is an insult to great men & a new low. Report says he has ruled himself out of the Lions job. Why? No-one was going to ask him to do it.
