Ange Capuozzo has been withdrawn from the Italy team to face England, in the opening round of the 2024 Six Nations. The exciting Toulouse man was picked to start at right wing for tomorrow’s match, yet will miss the fixture due a reported illness.
The latest reports from French and Italian media outlets, state that Capuozzo is suffering with gastroenteritis. Capuozzo has been replaced by Lorenzo Pani in Gonzalo Quesada’s starting team, with Bayonne centre Federico Mori coming onto the bench.
The French-born pocket rocket is amongst the top threats across the Italian back-line, and will be sorely missed by new head coach Gonzalo Quesada for his first match in charge of the Azzurri. Quesada will also be without Benneton flanker Edoardo Iachizzi, who has pulled out of the match with a shoulder injury.
Iachizzi was named amongst the Italian replacements to take on England, and has swapped out for an uncapped hopeful to make a test match debut. Alessandro Izekor has taken Iachizzi’s place on the bench, thanks to the opportunity from his Treviso teammate.
