Bristol Bears full-back Mat Protheroe is a top target for the Ospreys, according to The Rugby Paper.
The 23-year-old is out of contract at Ashton Gate in the summer and is one of several English-based exiles being targeted by the WRU (Welsh Rugby Union).
Protheroe, who can also play on the wing or at fly-half, and Leicester flanker Tommy Reffell are said to be on Ospreys’ radar.
Born in Swansea, Protheroe qualified for both England and Wales at schoolboy level and decided to play for the country of his residence and school, England U18 and followed this up with England U20 appearances in the U20 6 Nations.
However, since he is uncapped at senior level so he could still be eligible for Wales until then if he plays outside the country.
