“Be a Part of the Falcons’ Journey” – Elliot Obatoyinbo Agrees New Deal with Newcastle

Newcastle Falcons have confirmed, that Elliott Obatoyinbo has signed a new two-year deal to remain at Kingston Park. The 25-year-old joined from Saracens in the summer of 2022 and has since made 33 appearances and scored three tries.

The full-back called the decision a ‘no brainer’, as he is thoroughly enjoying life in the North East of England. Delighted to have pledged his future to the Premiership’s northernmost club, the Lancashire-born Obatoyinbo said:

“I’ve been here for almost two seasons now and I really enjoy it. I love the guys here and I’ve made some great friends, so that part of it was a no-brainer.”

“On the rugby side Steve Diamond has come in, our performances have already been a lot better and I really want to be a part of the Falcons’ journey moving forward.”

Asked what he hopes to add to the squad during the next two seasons, Obatoyinbo said: “I’m nearly 26 now and I want to bring some of my experience to what is a pretty young back line.

“I want to use my footwork and speed to help create attacking opportunities for the team, and I’m really looking forward to these next couple of seasons.”

Newcastle Falcons’ consultant director of rugby Steve Diamond said: “I’m really pleased that Elliott is going to be with us for the next two years.

“He’s a great pro who has impressed me a lot since I arrived at the club.

“He’s very good under the high ball, he’s strong in attack and it’s great news for us that he has decided to stay with the Falcons as we look to move the club forward.”
