BREAKING: Antoine Dupont on the way to hospital, World Cup could be over

France is anxiously awaiting updates on Antoine Dupont’s condition after he was forced out of the match against Namibia in Marseille due to a head injury.

Referee Matthew Carley penalized Namibia’s Johan Deysel with a yellow card for their head-on-head collision early in the second half. Dupont promptly took a knee at the Stade Vélodrome in Marseille and received medical attention.

Carley subsequently issued a red card to Deysel after consulting the TMO bunker. Although Dupont did not appear to lose consciousness, the French captain was substituted and did not return to the game. As he left the field unassisted, the 26-year-old seemed to be holding his jaw.

Reports from France 2 and RMC Sport suggest that Dupont was taken to the hospital for evaluation, as there are concerns of a potential concussion and a facial fracture.

According to France 2, Antoine Dupont is undergoing examinations at the hospital to assess the extent of his injuries, including the suspected concussion and the possibility of a fracture.
