Dai Young on Danny Cipriani’s return to Wasps and David Pocock speculation

  • Dai Young ‘pleased’ to have Danny Cipriani at Wasps
  • Young set the record straight that Wasps are not in talks with David Pocock
Director of Rugby Dai Young has spoken about the exciting prospect of Danny Cipriani returning to Wasps next season.

The Director of Rugby said: “The whole club and supporters are really excited, as soon as I got involved at Wasps, and I bumped into any supporters the first thing they said was we’ve got to get Danny back.

“So we’re really pleased he has chosen to come back on board with us, we feel that we are going in the right direction, and he is only going to add to an already talented squad.”

Meanwhile, he sets the record straight that Wasps are not in talks with David Pocock, following misguided rumours in the media.

Young said: “It’s a little bit annoying really, it’s a bit of lazy journalism.

“It is a good story, but there is no truth in it. It is great for the club that everyone recognises that we are an ambitious club, and we may be in a position to attract those kind of players.

“We have signed three players, and we have been linked with 103, so as well as being a positive, it can be a little annoying.”
