England forward Joe Marler has revealed what a fan said to him following the second Test has he and the rest of the squad fly home following their 2-1 series defeat in South Africa.

He and harlequins teammate Mike Brown exchanged angry words with an England supporter after Eddie Jones’ men lost their fifth straight Test

The loosehead prop reportedly swore back at a fan after they give him abuse following the 23-12 by the Springboks in Bloemfontein.



In a post on Instagram, Joe Marler revealed the supporter called him a w*nker, but still took time to thank all fans for their support in South Africa.

England lost the series 2-1 after beating the Springboks 25-10 in the final Test at Newlands on Saturday.

The Australian picked out captain Owen Farrell, forwards Joe Marler, Chris Robshaw and Joe Launchbury, winger Mike Brown and scrum-half Ben Youngs as having “handled big moments much better” in the final Test.
