England head coach Eddie Jones faces a selection headache ahead of the Autumn Nations Series after Saracen fly-half Owen Farrell added to growing injury list.
“He is with the doctors now,” said Mark McCall, the Saracens director of rugby, when asked about Farrell’s prognosis.
“Obviously he went off for an HIA [head injury assessment] and normal procedure is a 12-day stand down. Hopefully that will allow him enough time to play in the first Test.”
As a result, Jones will be without 20 players for next weeks training cap in Jersey.
Unavailable for training camp due to injury:
Lewis Ludlam (Northampton Saints) – Hip
The flanker suffered a hip injury during their defeat to Bath.
‘Lewis has got a hip pointer, quite a bad one I think, but nothing structurally upset, that’s my medical version,’ said Northampton coach Phil Dowson.
