George Kruis set for Premiership return – but not where he first thought

England lock George Kruis has become a target for Exeter Chiefs after international duo Jonny Hill and Sam Skinner confirmed they are leaving Sandy Park.

Rob Baxter is reportedly looking to Kruis to fill the gap after Scotland star Skinner left to join Edinburgh while now England regular Hill signed a more lucrative deal with Sale Sharks.

The 31-year-old has spent the last 18 months playing in Japan for the Saitama Wild Knights following a trophy-laden 11 seasons with Saracens.

Leicester Tiger and Sarries had been linked with a move for the second-row, but are now both struggling to balance their books ahead of the reduction to the salary cap.

A member of the 2017 Lions squad that toured New Zealand, he has said he still has ambitions to add to his 45 England caps.

Another club reportedly keeping tabs on Kruis situation are bottom of the table Bath, who received their own setback on Thursday with reports suggesting that Anthony Watson is set to leave The Rec.
