REPORTS | Gloucester star set for shock Japan switch

According to multiple reports, Springbok lock and World Cup winner Franco Mostert will be leaving Gloucester to join Japanese club Honda Heat.

The lock, who made 25 appearances for Gloucester over the last two years, will be a huge loss for the Cherry & Whites.

He will be a direct replacement for another Springbok lock, RG Snyman, who has signed for Irish club Munster.

It will be the 29-year-old’s second stint in Japan, having earlier represented the Ricoh Black Rams.

He has 39 Test caps for his country after making his Test debut against Ireland in Johannesburg in 2016.
