  • They’ve already secured the services of All Black Steven Luatua and Alapati Leiua
Irish out-half Ian Madigan is on the verge of completing a lucrative move to an Aviva Premiership club.

The42 reported that the 31-times capped Ireland international will be released from his contract by Bordeaux-Begles.

The Top 14 side will end is a deal a year early with Madigan joining Bristol on a contract worth in excess of £500,000 per season.

RUCK QUIZZES:

The Premiership outfit has also secured the services of world class players such as All Black international Steven Luatua and Samoan centre Alapati Leiua.

However, Bristol look destined for relegation from the top flight of English rugby, with today’s 41-24 defeat to fellow strugglers Worcester leaving them seven points adrift at the bottom of the table.

That means Madigan now faces the prospect of playing Championship rugby next season, although Bristol would be heavy favourites to bounce straight back up thanks to their hefty investment.

Northampton, Sale and Worcester have all showed significant interest in the fly-half, but he is now set to make a move to Bristol this summer.
