Scans have confirmed that Saracens and England forward Maro Itoje fractured his jaw in their Premiership fixture with Harlequins on Sunday.
The 23-year-old left the field in the 48th minute of their defeat at the Stoop and was taken to hospital where scans confirmed the fracture.
He will now see a second specialist later this week to confirm his return to play schedule, read a statement from the Premiership outfit.
Saracens host Clermont in the Champions Cup this weekend while England will start their Six Nations campaign against Italy on February 4.
