England players Manu Tuilagi and Denny Solomona have been sent home from a training camp over “team culture issues”, says the Rugby Football Union.
The RFU did not comment further but the issue is thought to be alcohol-related.
Leicester Tigers released the following statement:
“Leicester Tigers are disappointed to learn that Manu Tuilagi has been sent home from the England training camp.” read the statement
Tigers head coach Matt O’Connor added: “This is particularly disappointing because Manu has worked so hard to get back to fitness after long-term injury and to get back into the England squad.
“This matter has been dealt with by the RFU and we will talk to Manu on his return to the club.”
