Leigh Halfpenny’s future may be FINALLY nearly settled

  • Leigh Halfpenny will reportedly renew his contract with Toulon this week

  • The 28-year-old joined Toulon in 2014 from Cardiff Blues
French superclub Toulon wants to renew full-back Leigh Halfpenny’s contract before he goes on tour with the Lions next week, says the French club.

The Top 14 side’s owner, Mourad Boudjellal, wants to have the contract sorted “by the end of this week”.

Toulon have made an offer reported to be worth £750,000 per year for the club’s top points-scorer.

Premiership clubs and Welsh regions had been keen to bring Halfpenny back to the UK – but he’s reportedly ready to put pen to paper on a new deal.



Toulon will face La Rochelle in Marseille on Friday, 26 May for a place in the final, which will be Halfpenny’s last game of the season for the club.

Halfpenny confirmed in September that he’d be available for the start British & Irish Lions tour, missing a potential Top 14 final.
