LIST: 5 stars who clashed with Eddie Jones - and never played again

Over the years, we’ve seen Jones dark side emerge on numerous occasions, and this often manifests itself in feuds with his own players.

Here are five players who clashed with Eddie Jones and would never play again.

Former England start Kyran Bracken was the first person to reveal why the Quins playmaker was mysteriously frozen out of Jones plans in 2018 despite being a regular under the Aussie up until that point.

"He (Care) made the mistake of speaking his mind to Eddie Jones and questioning how he wanted him to play when he was playing with an England ‘B’ team against Japan in the autumn of 2018," said Bracken.

"Eddie’s response to that was ‘that’s not the attitude I want’ and he binned him from his plans with no return on the cards."

This story was later backed up by England and Harlequins teammate Mike Brown.

Brown wrote in his column for the Mail Online: 'I'd had one of my best seasons for Quins (2018/19) with really good attacking stats (2019), but Eddie had pigeon-holed me as a defensive full-back. At the end of this meeting, he asked if I had anything I wanted to say.

"I challenged his comments that I was just a defensive full-back, saying I thought I had been adding value to the attack, with examples and stats from my season, before saying I would take away all of his points and that I would do everything I could to get into the World Cup squad.

"He did not like that I had contested what he said and went mad. He shouted: 'Well you lost the f****** ball in contact on Saturday, didn't you? That's f****** not good enough. You're not f****** doing everything you can.'"

Ultimately, Brown wouldn't be picked for the Rugby World Cup with Jones saying that his clash with teammate Ben Te'o had nothing to do with his omission. He's not been picked by the Aussie since.

Jones had an unsavoury exchange with the winger prior to his sudden exit from Harlequins.

Yarde, 28, last played for England in Argentina in 2017, and has remained exiled despite stellar Premiership form.

However, his head coach, Alex Sanderson has backed him for a recall, sayinh “Marland is playing the rugby of his life at the moment and I would like think the powers to be, if they are watching the games, will see that as well.

"The injury was a big turning point and he has changed a lot of his approach to life with a lot of charity work with us and is a great example to young players who could and would have gone down some of the paths he had gone down that led to him not having potentially the best reputation during the first part of his career."

Jones wrote in his autobiography that the Sarries legend ‘could not match the pace and snarl of his long-term rival Mike Brown.’ 

However, according to Brown, the Saracens fullback clashed with Jones over this opinion in a heated discussion which led to him being frozen out of the squad after 2016.

Following the clash, Goode never won a recall despite being awarded the 2019 European Player of the Year award.

The pair clashed over Eddie Jones controversial comments about the fly-half in his autobiography.

“He said more about me in a book than he’s ever said to me. That’s all I know,” Cipriani told The Times. 

"He’s never said two words to me but I found out everything I need to know from him through a book."

“How many times have I been turned down to play for England? It’s crazy. Was my intention right? I don’t know. I always felt like it was but perhaps it was giving off the wrong meaning to people.

“My intention to play for England might have been for self, for ego, or to prove people wrong. I don’t know fully until I let that go, which, in the last couple of weeks, I have.

“When I say let it go, it doesn’t mean I don’t want to do it but I’m in a much better frame of mind about it.”
