The Rugby Paper have picked out their five English youngsters who could break out in 2021 and earn an international call-up from head coach Eddie Jones.
1. Gabriel Oghre
The versatile forward, who can play hooker or in the back-row, signed for Wasps’ Senior Academy ahead of the 2017/18 season.
During his first couple of seasons with the Club, Oghre was an eye-catching regular for Wasps A in the Premiership Rugby Shield and featured in nine of Wasps A’s ten matches in the 2018/19 campaign, captaining the side on occasions while also crossing for three tries.
Oghre also made his Premiership debut in 2018/19 off the bench against Saracens and soon made the step up to the Wasps first-team squad for the 2019/20 season.
What they said: “The 22-year-old shone as captain of Wasps A earlier in the season, before being handed opportunities in recent weeks in the Premiership in both the front and back rows, scoring in bonus-point wins over Worcester and Bristol.”
