LUKE PEARCE – A word from the middle: The journey to the Six Nations

Luke Pearce will be heading to the Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh on 12th March to officiate the penultimate round of the 2023 Guinness Six Nations when Scotland takes on Ireland.

Along with our partners at ACME whistles, we caught up with Luke to find out a little more about his journey to the Six Nations, and about how he is preparing for the game.

“Preparing for The Six Nations has been made a lot simpler because I know all of the other referees on the team,” he said.

“We’re all in the Premiership as well and we’re all employed by England Rugby so I probably see more of them than I do some of my family over the course of the year.

“Whenever you spend time with people it makes life a lot easier because you haven’t got to have specific meetings about preparation because you’ve probably had the conversation over dinner at some point.”

“All the guys and girls on the world rugby scene are all very supportive. It’s a very tight group. But to have people that know me inside out in terms of Wayne (Barnes) and Christophe (Ridley) on my side and Stu (Terheege) for Scotland makes life a little bit easier in terms of preparing.”

You can catch Luke at Murrayfield on Sunday 12th March at 3pm when he will be refereeing Scotland v Ireland.
