Anthony Watson signed a ‘short-term deal’ with Leicester Tigers, after the Midlander’s won the race for Watson in April of last year. Departing Bath after nine years and over 100 caps at the Somerset club, Watson has been settling into Leicester life, and returned from injury to make his debut in a pre-season friendly against Jersey.

Watson was then fast-tracked back into the England team, with former Tigers Head Coach Steve Borthwick now taking the reigns at Twickenham. Watson is yet to sign a further contract extension at Welford Road, with Leicester fans hopeful to see the winger re-sign ahead of the 2023/24 season.

There have been no solidified bids for Watson, and he has not expressed interest to depart the club. However, a big money move is always on the cards for a player of Watson’s calibre, and with his contract up before too long, the offers may soon start arriving for his services.
