“No respect” – England fans all saying the same thing after Ben Youngs dropped from squad

Rugby fans are all saying the same thing after Ben Youngs was dropped from the England squad for the match against Italy.

Northampton’s Alex Mitchell is included as one of the two scrum-halves along with Jack van Poortvliet.

Although fans almost unanimously agreed that the Leicester playmakers times in the international side is coming to an end, some supporters reaction ‘lacked respect’.

One supporter commented: “Thanks to Ben Youngs for his service to his country but time is right for the new lads,”

A second said: “About time Alex Mitchell gets a chance. At least then we hopefully won’t kick away possession for the opposition to run in a try.”

Another user wrote: “Youngs out thank god he’s finished.”

Another fan responded: “Let’s not be disrespectful to Ben Youngs. He has been a stalwart for England for years and deserves better, but it’s time for him to step aside and give the youngsters a chance. Great to see Alex Mitchell retained. Best of luck Alex, well deserved”

A second said: “I can’t believe some of these messages and memes people have posted. Celebrating a player being dropped? Yes, we all have our opinions, but celebrate those that have been retained and respect those who have not.”

The England squad have met for Steve Borthwick’s first training camp as head coach since he replaced Eddie Jones last month.

The entire selection has been kept under wraps, but images of Ben Earl and Northampton centre Fraser Dingwall were released today.

Courtney Lawes has also returned to the squad after recovering from a concussion problem.

It’s also been widely reported that Leicester Tigers tighthead-prop Dan Cole is recalled for the first time since the World Cup final in 2019.
