English rugby’s top players have been given legal advice as they object to the blanket 25% pay cut imposed in the Gallagher Premiership.
The row over the wage reductions intensified late on Thursday with stars unhappy about what has unfolded amid the rugby lockdown that threatens the financial future of the game.
The Guardian report the entire Leicester Tigers squad is strongly considering rejecting the 25% cut after the Rugby Players’ Association provided legal guidance to its 700+ members.
According to the paper, an increasing number of players are set to challenge the blanket policy imposed across the league, with growing unrest and a sense of dismay that individual circumstances and varying salaries were not being taken into account.
