“Promising young talent” – Bath complete their third new signing ahead of the new season

Bath Rugby has signed Mikey Summerfield ahead of the 2023/24 season.

The 20-year-old prop has linked up with the Bath Rugby squad at Farleigh House to begin pre-season training.

Summerfield has been part of the London Irish Academy since his early teens and played a part in their U18 Academy League winning campaign.

From the age of 18, Summerfield has been capped internationally with England U18 and subsequently England U20.

Having played all five rounds of the 2022 Under 20 Six Nations campaign, Summerfield is an up-and-coming front row forward.

Of the signing, Head of Rugby Johann van Graan, said: โ€œMikey is a promising young talent and we are looking forward to see him in Blue, Black & White in the coming season.

“He brings power to our front row and he has the ability to play both sides of the scrum.โ€
