All Black legend Zinzan Brooke ranks his five toughest opponents

Zinzan Brooke played 58 tests for New Zealand, and 42 non-international matches for the All Blacks, captained Auckland Blues to Super 12 championships in 1996 and 1997 and was an influential figure in Auckland’s dominance in the National Provincial Championship during the late 1980s and 1990s.

The 53-year-old has picked an interesting mix, with three forwards and two backs making selection:

 Campese was one of the game's great players and someone who had the ability to polarise supporters. Brash, arrogant and brilliant, "Campo" bewitched defences and infuriated opponents the world over during a career that took in 101 international caps and 64 tries.

When the centre retired from international rugby in 1995, his 111 appearances made him the world's most capped player. During a career that spanned 13 years, Sella had mesmerised and destroyed defences the world over.

The versatile forward played for France between 1986 and 1991, striking fear into opposing packs all over the world. He'd win a total of 42 caps.

Mobility, fantastic hands, mastery of the set piece, advanced reading of the game, strong defence, a huge work rate, and he kicked the goals to boot. The sight of the big second row lining up kicks at goal always provided a sense of wonder for those watching, but the statistics speak for themselves, with Eales kicking a total of 163 international points, including several match-winning attempts.

During his career with France, Jean Pierre Rives came to epitomise the team's spirit as a risk-taking and gloriously unpredictable outfit. A blond bombshell in the French back row, Rives overcame criticisms that he was too small to play international rugby with his ultra-committed, guts-and-glory style of play.
