Despite Eddie Jones resistance to picking in-form stars, here are four players who impressed over the weekend for their respective clubs this weekend…
#1. Henry Arundell (London Irish )
The speedsters incredible length-of-the-pitch try was not enough to keep London Irish in the European Challenge Cup as they were knocked out 19-18 by Toulon in the quarter-finals.
With the score 19-13, the replacement fullback, who is also eligible for Scotland. collected the ball in front of his own try line and ran the length of the pitch to bring his team within a point.
Cap him as soon as possible Eddie!
#2. Manu Tuilagi (Sale Sharks)
Two moments of superb footballing skill helped Racing 92 break Sale Sharks' resistance and set up a Champions Cup semi-final with La Rochelle following a 41-22 triumph.
Sale led at the interval after the powerhouse centre, who looks to be getting back to his best, ran in unopposed for a trademark
His return to fitness and form can only be a good thing heading into this summer's tour against Australia.
#3. Maro Itoje (Saracens)
England's only world-class player was fine fettle this weekend and even got among the tries as the men in black thrashed Gloucester 44-15 at Kingsholm.
Owen Farrell also once again impressed after making his return from an ankle problem a few weeks back.
#4. Alfie Barbeary (Wasps)
The exciting number 8's try three minutes from time saw his team beat Edinburgh to reach the European Challenge Cup semi-finals.
As Bobby Bridge said in his report for Coventry Live: "There’s few better than the number eight to convert pressure into points."
