Rugby Pass 8/10: "Playing with Farrell outside him, there was a lot of pressure on Smith in what was effectively his first major Test in an England jersey, but you wouldn’t have known. Kicked well out of hand early on and showed slick hands to put Steward away. England look a different beast with Smith at the wheel."

Telegraph 8/10: "Showed intent from early on in his first Test against a major rugby nation, interchanging well at key moments with Farrell. Set up Steward for his try."

Express 8/10: "Looked hugely pumped up before the game. A big second half carry almost resulted in a try and very solid in the nuts and bolts of his job."

Rugby Pass 7.5/10: "Made himself useful around the pitch in the first half, but burst into life in the second, very nearly scoring a try from 20 metres out with five or six Wallabies hanging off him."

Express 9/10: "England’s shining light at the back. Such a steady hand under the high ball, and confident with ball in hand. Not 21 until next month, looks a hell of a prospect."

Rugby Pass 8/10: "With Anthony Watson injured, this was another opportunity for Steward to use his time to cement himself into the No.15 and he’s doing just that. A brilliant in and out saw him cross the whitewash after just 7 minutes. Looks to the manor born and one expects – as commentator Nick Mullins pointed out – that this is but the start of a lengthy England career."

Telegraph 8/10: "Terrific opening try for the Leicester Tigers man. Showed composure under the high ball throughout. Only one error in a terrific game with a stray kick late on. "

Express 6/10: "Wore 14, but was not used a wing, really. Mainly operated in midfield and as a bombing runner, but did not often meet the first man. Dropped a kick off, which will concern Jones."

Express 6/10: "One missed kick for goal and another for touch. Operated at first receiver a lot, which took the pressure off Smith, but went off injured late on."

RUCK 5/10: "The Bath flanker has been unable to overcome his struggles domestically to hit top form for his country and departed early for the second week in a row after missing FOUR tackles. This move would see Tom Curry, who has not shone at number 8, refer back to his normal position on the flanker with Dombrandt taking the eight shirt. The Harlequins powerhouse made a significant impact off the bench, making more metres (35) in five minutes than Underhill did in 60."
