The rebuilding job from Steve Borthwick at Leicester Tigers is set to continue heading into 2021 with these five stars linked with a move to Welford Road.
The former England coach has already signed experienced international Richard Wigglesworth and will look to add more English players as he looks to revamp his squad.
Here are five players who have been linked with a move to Welford Road.

1. Zach Mercer

Bath’s talismanic back-rower could be a shock departure next summer when his contract with the black, blue and whites expires. A strong ball carrier and a formidable force in defence, the back rower has caught the eye of Borthwick and has been linked with a move to Welford Road by the Mail Online.

2. Louis Lynagh

A report in The Rugby Paper has linked the son of Wallabies legend Michael, with a move to Leicester Tigers. The versatile back, who made his Premiership debut for Harlequins against Tigers towards the end of the 2019/20 season, will be out of contract in 2021. According to the report, the Tigers hierarchy were that impressed with the speedster that they have earmarked him as a top transfer target.

3. Hamish Watson

The Manchester-born flanker, who began his career with Tigers before joining Edinburgh, is ‘set to leave’ the Scottish capital and could return to Welford Road when his contract expires in 2021. However, they face stiff competition for his signature with the 29-year-old back-rower possibly joining international teammate Finn Russell at Racing 92, who are based in Paris.

4. Beno Obano

The loosehead-prop, who is the cousin of Maro Itoje, is apparently top of Exeter Chiefs shopping list for the 2021/22 Premiership season. However, we understand that Obano is also a transfer target for Tigers. Saracens are also reportedly taking a keen interest and are thought to be monitoring the 26-year-old’s situation.
