England's George Kruis and Scotland's Scott Cummings have become targets for Exeter Chiefs after it eas confirmed international duo Jonny Hill and Sam Skinner are leaving Sandy Park.
Rob Baxter is reportedly looking to the duo to fill the gap after Scotland star Skinner left to join Edinburgh while now England regular Hill signed a more lucrative deal with Sale Sharks.
Kruis has spent the last 18 months playing in Japan for the Saitama Wild Knights following a trophy-laden 11 seasons with Saracens.
Leicester Tiger and Sarries had been linked with a move for the 31-year-old, but are now both struggling to balance their books ahead of the reduction to the salary cap.
“I can’t confirm any signings yet but we will be fine," said Baxter.
“You find your way through and move on and there are some very interesting options available and we have got some very interesting options available within our squad as well.
Baxter elaborated: “Will Witty will be back from an ankle injury in the next couple of months and has improved greatly this season."
