Sam Warburton tips England player to become world-class

Wales legend Sam Warburton has heaped praise upon Tom Curry and is backing the England lanker to become one of the best players on the planet.

The former Lions captain was just a year older than Curry when he led his country to the 2011 World Cup semi-final, and now he’s backing Sale Sharks star to be a breakout star in Japan.

“Tom Curry will announce himself as a world-class player because I think he is,” revealed Warburton The Rugby Paper.

“At the start of every World Cup year and every Lions year, there is always going to be someone starting for a team who people have never heard of.

“But I’ve known about Tom Curry for a good couple of years. I saw him at Sale and thought he’s got it because he’s an athlete, he intelligent and has the aggression to go with it so I thought he was going to make it.

“I think the same with Sam Underhill, these boys have been on the radar for a while and I’ve been campaigning for England to start both of them together for a while.”
