Semi-professional rugby player booted off Love Island

Love Island’s Sherif Lanre spent just nine days in the villa before he was asked to leave by producers.

A Love Island spokesman said: “After breaking the villa rules Sherif had conversations with the producers and it was mutually agreed that he would leave the Love Island villa.”

Sherif said: “In a case of poor judgement, I broke the villa rules and as a result agreed with the producers that it was best for me to leave the villa.

“I regret that I didn’t conduct myself in the right way and, as a 20 year old guy, it’s something I know I will take on board and learn from.

“I really enjoyed my time in the villa and look forward to catching up with everyone on the outside.”

Sherif played for Old Alleynian RFC.

EDITORS PICKS:

They play in the London SW2 league, although they were relegated in the 2018/2019 season.

Now, they are four divisions below the National League 2, which is what officially counts as a professional standard.

You wouldn’t imagine that Sherif picked up anything more than £25-50 per-week for his performances at that level.
