“Superb athlete” – Sale Sharks complete the signing powerhouse forward

Sale Sharks have announced the signing of lock Hyron Andrews on a short-term contract, lasting until the culmination of the season.

The 28-year-old South African has been brought in as a replacement for Jonny Hill, who sustained a season-ending injury during the defeat against La Rochelle in January.

Andrews is poised to potentially make his competitive debut in the upcoming match against Bath on Sunday, March 24th.

Alex Sanderson said: “Hyron is a superb athlete and a great player who we believe has been underrated and overshadowed over a few years due to the strength-in-depth and quality that in exists in the second-row within the South African system.

“He pairs his prowess in the line out with a mobility around the park that will dovetail with the physicality we already have in our back five.

“We are lucky to recruit Hyron in his pomp at 28 years old and hope that he, Maighline his wife and young son Hendrix settle well and thrive in their new home up north.”
