Taulupe Faletau set to depart Bath after five years at the club

Cardiff will pull off a major coup by luring Taulupe Faletau away from Bath RFC, according to Wales Online.

They suggest that ‘The No.8 is understood to be on the point of committing to a deal that would see him become an Arms Park player for next season.’

Faletau, who left Newport for Bath in 2016, has developed into one of the most exciting back-rows in World Rugby although he’s had some injury struggles in recent seasons.

His return is good news for Wales boss Wayne Pivac, as he has been vocal about wanting Wales’ best players to play in Wales.

If the move does go through, it would be a significant piece of business for the capital city team, who have already confirmed the signing of Wales flanker Thomas Young from Wasps for next season.

However, nothing so far is confirmed and the 30-year-old will see out the rest of the season with Bath.
