Exeter Chiefs star Jonny Hill has split social media down the middle after he escaped severe punishment for an ugly hit on Bath’s Taulupe Faletau.

A clip of the incident from one particular angle appeared on social media and that drew a big response, with many arguing it should have been a red card.

The horrific challenge came in the 34th minute of the match, with the Chiefs holding a slender 14-6 at the time of the incident.

Rubbing salt into the wound, the Chiefs second-row, who saw yellow for the incident, went onto score for the hosts as they ran out comfortable 34-6 winners.
