The South African media set the cat among the pigeons by naming the best rugby players from the past 12 months, with not a single Scot or Welshman in the line-up.
The Sport 24 team of the year was made up of six South Africans, five New Zealanders, three England stars and one Fijian.
Back three: Beauden Barrett (New Zealand); Cheslin Kolbe (South Africa), Semi Radradra (Fiji)
CENTRES: Manu Tuilagi (England), Owen Farrell (England)
