TRANSFER | Gloucester sign Argentina international

Gloucester has confirmed that Argentina international Matias Alemanno has signed for the Cherry & Whites on a long-term deal.

First capped by Los Pumas in 2014, the 28-year-old second-row has since become a key member of the Argentina pack, earning 61 caps to his name, including selection in the 2015 & 2019 World Cup squads.

“Matías is a fantastic addition the squad, and I’m delighted he’s joining us,” said Head Coach, George Skivington.

“He brings a lot of the attributes we’ve been looking for in that area and we think he can continue to develop with us and compliment players we already have in the squad.

“He’s a physical and abrasive player, and his style of play will really suit the Gallagher Premiership, and we’re sure the fans will be looking forward to seeing him in Cherry & White”

LIST | Three potential Gloucester signings and a potential XV

1. Joaquín Tuculet

An established international, the former Argentina captain is available to sign after Jaguares confirmed that all of their players are free to leave and pursue playing contracts overseas.

Also capable of playing as a centre and fly-half, the 30-year-old’s work-rate, consistency and attacking brilliance make him a potent threat for any opposing side.

The speedster would be a fantastic addition for the Cherry & Whites.
