Luke McAlister has completed a surprise mid-season move out of Toulon today.
The 30-cap former All Black has completed his move to Clermont as a medical joker, following Camille Lopez’s horrific injury during the European Champions Cup match against Northampton.
“The arrival of Luke is a very good thing,” says ASM Sports Director Franck Azéma.
“He is an experienced player who knows perfectly the Top 14 and European competitions since he has been in France for more than 6 years.
“Luke has shown great enthusiasm for joining the club and we are confident that his integration will be as easy as it is quick. In the last few weeks, there had been trouble between the positions of opener and half-melee, and we take this arrival as a real breath of fresh air.
“He should integrate the training, this weekend, and relieve our workforce as soon as possible. ”
