Jamie Roberts has left the door open for a return to Welsh rugby in the summer of 2020 when his two-year deal with Bath runs out.
The legendary centre will be 33 years old then and he admits a return to his homeland ‘would appeal’ to him.
He told the Rugby Paper: “One of the reasons I signed for the club (Bath) was because I felt we could challenge for silverware.
“Returning to Welsh rugby would appeal to me in some regards. I’d love to give back to Welsh rugby because it’s a place which gave me so much as a young player.
“I’m really happy at Bath and I’ve recently bought a flat here. It’s such a beautiful city and is rugby mad, but it’s dangerous to look too far ahead in professional sport.
But he’s revealed he’s keen to return to Wales in 2020.
“In what capacity that is I’m not sure, but certainly it’s a place close to my heart.”
