France international Mathieu Bastareaud will be returning to Europe next season after his stint in Major League Rugby with Rugby Union New York came to a premature end.
The powerhouse centre, capped 54 times by France, had been linked with a possible move to Super Rugby and South African franchise Sharks.
“He will be in Top 14, he has got a two-year contract with Lyon. He will be over there and will do well,” James Kennedy, Rugby United New York’s majority owner, told RugbyPass.
