Here we take a look at five Gallagher Premiership transfers which have been reported and will almost certainly be announced before the end of the season.
1. Freddie Burns to Leicester
Tigers have reportedly opened talks with Freddie Burns over a possible shock return to Welford Road, according to
the Mail Online. The 30-year-old fly-half, who won five England caps between 2012 and 2014, reportedly has the option to stay in Asia for another year, but Steve Borthwick is understood to be keen to sign him for the 2021-22 season. We can definitely see this happening!
2. Manu Tuilagi to Racing
The 45-cap centre, who will be
out until at least May with an achilles injury, will miss the entirety of the 2021 Six Nations, but is hoping to end his Test career with the British & Irish Lions in South Africa. According to reports in France, the 29-year-old being lined up to join Racing 92 or Toulon in the TOP14 ahead of the 2021/22 season.
3. Peter O'Mahony to Sarries
The veteran back-rower will reportedly be on the move next summer with a number of clubs chasing his signature. O’Mahony, who joined Munster over a decade ago, will be out of contract and already has several French clubs interested, according to The Rugby Paper. The 31-year-old
has also linked to Saracens, which we think could definitely happen.
4. Santiago Cordero to Wasps
One of the heroes of Argentina’s historic victory over New Zealand has been linked by The Rugby Paper with a move to Wasps. The fullback established himself as fan favourite during his time with Exeter Chiefs and will be a free agent next summer when his contract with Bordeaux-Begles expires. This move would make a lot of sense.
5. Marcus Smith to Bath
Bath's hunt for a top quality fly-half continues. The 21-year-old, who has
also been linked with a move to Lyon in the Top 14, will be out of contract in 2021 when his current three-year contract comes to an end.Stuart Potter moved to deny this transfer rumour, but we think the deal could happen if the money is right.
