Wallabies legend David Campese has criticised Eddie Jones, England and Owen Farrell in the build-up to their clash at Twickenham this afternoon.
“Has he taken England forward that much?” wrote Campese in his column for the Guardian.
“Tell me which players from this team you would put into England’s 2003 World Cup-winning team?
“Owen Farrell? Good player but he’s rugby league player
“Maro Itoje looks pretty handy, I’ll give you that. Much like two years ago when Eddie took over, the players are good but they’re not that good.
“It is to Eddie’s credit that he has got them all to buy into his ethos and they are winning.
“But if England lose a couple on the trot, you might find the same cracks appearing. I think Eddie showed his true colours last weekend. It was a little glimpse of how he can get.
“Eddie is very much ‘My way or the high way’. He likes to be the commander in chief.
“Look, England have some good players, don’t get me wrong. But I prefer a bit more spontaneity in my rugby. Eddie is a very structured coach. Even at the Wallabies it was more about defence than attack.”
