Exeter Chiefs winger Jack Nowell has made the best of his ‘controversial’ social media situation. Nowell has partnered up with former Chiefs teammate Kai Hortsmann, and they are raising money to support former Gloucester star Ed Slator’s Motor Nurone Disease diagnosis.
Nowell landed himself in hot water, after putting out a tweet following team-mate Olly Woodburn’s red card against Leicester Tigers last weekend. Nowell wrote “I’m actually in shock, like shock shocked. What the hell is happening? That’s one of the worst decisions I’ve ever seen. EVER.”
He has since been issued a £10k fine by the RFU, and took to Twitter after discovering a donation page in support of Nowell’s comments. The page is in support of Ed Slator’s Motor Nurone Disease diagnosis, and is entitled ‘Donate to @4EdFundraising If You Disagree’.
The donation page was set up by Nowell’s former Chiefs teammate Kai Hortsmann, and Nowell again took to social media to encourage donations to the fantastic cause.
