Coventry Welsh Ladies stripped NAKED for calendar to promote body confidence

With just a few carefully placed rugby balls and just a pair of knee-high socks, these ladies at Coventry Welsh Ladies weren’t afraid to get their kit off in 2020.

The daring sports women posed for risque photographs, shot by the talented Charlie Founders, in aid of body confidence for young women after one of their players 11-year-old niece stated she wanted to lose weight.

She is a perfectly happy, healthy young girl who has been influenced by the media into thinking she is not good enough.

This led to a post on Facebook about the issue that went viral, reaching over 4 million people and being shared over 29,000 times.

Following the thousands of messages they recieved, sometimes heartbreaking ones, the girls wanted to continue their support to young women struggling from body confidence.

In the calendar, the girls shared their own experiences with the subject and how they overcame it.

The daring ruggers even had some risque photographs taken outside on the club pitch.

The funds they raised from the sale of the calendar, which quickly sold out, were halved between Mental Health UK and the rugby club.

Here is some of the wonderful feedback they had from their efforts:

The half used by their club went towards much needed improvement of their ladies’ facilities, which will hopefully encourage more ladies to play and reap the benefits that rugby has to offer.
