England boss Eddie Jones forced to self-isolate

England’s head coach Eddie Jones will have to follow government advice upon his return to the UK, which could involve a 14-day self-isolation period.

The Aussie, who is currently still in Japan, is understood to be planning a return to the UK next month.

England coach Eddie Jones may have to self-isolate after returning to London from Japan.

But with the government expected to impose a strictly-enforced 14-day quarantine for all travellers arriving into the country.

Matt Proudfoot, the England forwards coach, is also out of the country, visiting family in South Africa.

“We will ensure all coaches are back in sufficient time to be fully available for when international rugby resumes,” said an RFU spokeswoman.

EDITORS PICKS:

John Mitchell and Simon Amor, the other two members of Jones’s coaching team, are currently in the UK.

It’s looking likely that their tour to Japan later this year will be cancelled.
