Flanker leaves Leicester Tigers after two years at the club

Leicester Tigers have confirmed that back-rower Lachlan McCaffrey has left the club by mutual consent.

The 27-year-old joined Tigers from London Welsh in the summer of 2015 and made a total of 47 first-team appearances for the club, scoring five tries.

“It is important to get the balance right throughout the squad,” Glynn told the club website.

“We have some strong competition for places across the back row and extended our options there this summer with the signing of Sione Kalamafoni and Dominic Ryan in line with how Matt O’Connor wants the team to play going forward.

“We feel that allowing Locky an opportunity to play elsewhere would give him the chance to pursue a new challenge and give us some more flexibility around the squad.

“Locky has been a very good player for us since arriving from London Welsh and we wish him well for the future.”
